We’re a multi award-winning contract catering company, with a team of trained foodies serving over 45,500 satisfied customers every day. We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hospitality chef to join our team.

Inspired by food, with real flair and imagination, you’ll provide an exceptional culinary hospitality showcase to the highest standards of production. You must be a passionate and confident Hospitality chef looking for an opportunity to cook amazing fine dining food as well as corporate buffet, working lunches and Canape events.

Experience with working in a busy service environment is key as there can be a number of events happening at the same time.

With sound financial and legislative knowledge, you understand how to achieve targets, plan balanced, well-costed menus and monitor stock levels and controls. And you’ll inspire your team too, promoting a culture of working together to achieve customer satisfaction and exceed expectations. An effective communicator with a strong customer focus, you’ll gain valuable feedback to measure success and be committed to continuous learning.

·       Manage 5 Group meeting rooms and their Outlook calendars, ensuring all meeting room invites and catering requests, and any room clashes, are managed efficiently and effectively.

·       Hands on management and organisation of catering requests for refreshments, breakfast meetings, sandwich and buffet lunches and ad-hoc events e.g. Canape receptions.  This will include ensuring that Booking Forms and Event Checklists are completed and orders are placed within deadlines with our external catering supplier – always taking into account specific dietary requirements and budget constraints. 

·       Experience with working in a busy service environment is key as there can be a number of events happening at the same time.

·       Ensure that the Catering Assistant is fully briefed on the days/weeks’ events

·       With sound financial and legislative knowledge, you understand how to achieve targets, plan balanced, well-costed menus and monitor stock levels and controls. And you’ll inspire your team too, promoting a culture of working together to achieve customer satisfaction and exceed expectations. An effective communicator with a strong customer focus, you’ll gain valuable feedback to measure success and be committed to continuous learning.

·       Ensure that training for the Catering Assistant is up to date and identify any gaps where additional training needs to be provided

·       Provide regular cover for the Catering Assistant’s core duties e.g. making refreshments and setting-out/clearing meeting rooms

·       Organise waiting staff (using our preferred supplier) for larger functions or on busy days to ensure we have enough resource to service our functions

·       In conjunction with the Office Manager, manage meeting room reconfigurations with our external resource

·       Actively promote our catering service and ensure that seasonal menus produced and  distributed to our customers

·       Work with our customers  to build bespoke menus to support ad-hoc functions when required

·       Introduce new ideas to further elevate our catering offering and promote to our internal customers - whilst always ensuring adherence to budget constraints

·       Complete monthly catering costings re-charge exercise

·       Manage, approve and code invoices, and reconcile company credit card expenditure in a timely manner to meet Group Finance deadlines

·       Order supplies and equipment using our existing approved suppliers, ensuring adherence to budget constraints

·       Manage stock ensuring all produce is within date and stored accordingly, and record any stock wastage

·       Maintain records of expenditure and review monthly with Line Manager

·       Ensure full compliance with catering Health & Safety legislation and best practice – ensuring that all records, especially the HCAPP, are in place and up to date

·       Ensure that all documents required for annual HCAPP assessment are readily available for audit in advance of annual visits from our H&S partner

·       Maintain a good understanding of service and maintenance works that take place in the kitchen, addressing any concerns or shortfalls directly with the Office Manager

·       Streamline processes – explore ways of simplifying procedures to improve efficiency where appropriate to do so

·       Feedback from the PA to the GCEO and senior management as appropriate

·       360 feedback from key internal and external stakeholders

·       Excellent customer experience and service delivered within agreed SLAs

·       Successful delivery of all business events and functions held within the London office

·       Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate which should include an excellent understanding of allergy management, catering Health & Safety best practice and Food Management

·       Experience of hands-on management of a HCAPP

·       Previous Hospitality Chef Manager experience essential

·       Excellent experience using Outlook and intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word.  We can boost knowledge of Excel and Word if required

·       Demonstrable experience in a role requiring high levels of proactivity

·       Willingness to shop for ingredients, ie sandwich platters, when catering for smaller meetings

·       Ability to work flexibly as there will be occasions when an early start or later finish will be required to accommodate events




With two years’ experience working in a similar-sized operation and educated to C & G 706 1 & 2, NVQ or equivalent experience, you’ll have an exciting portfolio of awards, demonstrating the highest standards in the industry.
