Focused on Exceptional Guest Experience | JW Lees

The Opportunity

This is a key role for an experienced individual who is passionate about people, operational excellence, and above all, delivering outstanding guest satisfaction.

To be considered, you must have a minimum of two years’ experience as an Assistant Manager in a hospitality management setting.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to support the smooth, effective, and profitable operation of the business — with a clear focus on guest engagement and service excellence.

Guest Experience

  • Set and uphold the highest standards of service throughout every guest interaction.
  • Act as a visible and proactive presence on the floor, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Take personal responsibility for resolving guest issues professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements that enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Support and motivate the wider team to deliver consistently exceptional hospitality.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, and development of team members, ensuring they are well-equipped and confident in their roles.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive culture that reflects the values of JW Lees.
  • Lead by example and provide hands-on support during peak periods and key trading times.

Operational Delivery

  • Take operational responsibility in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Maintain rigorous standards in cleanliness, presentation, and food and drink service.
  • Oversee day-to-day processes including stock management, supplier liaison, and team scheduling.
  • Drive efficiencies in labour and stock control while supporting overall financial performance.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure full compliance with all licensing laws, food hygiene, health & safety and company policies.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, safety, and operational consistency.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Manager in a hospitality management role
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • A calm, confident presence with excellent interpersonal abilities
  • A guest-first mindset and commitment to service excellence
  • Commercial awareness and a strong understanding of hospitality operations
  • High personal standards, professionalism and a collaborative approach
