Brought to you by iconic brand BOXPARK, PLAYBOX  is a leisure offering with an eclectic and exciting concept to add to the unique concept of BOXPARK. 

We aim to provide entertainment and leisure concepts to guests for interactive competitive socialising.

This venue will be inside BOXPARK Croydon on the mezzanine level above the hustle and bustle of street food traders and bars on the ground floor. 


The Role:

We are looking for a General Manager with a background in competitive socialising to lead a small team to activate the leisure and entertainment offerings for BOXPARK.  You will manage a team of supervisors, bar and floor staff to drive standards and the guest experience.   You will take full accountability and ownership of the sales, guest experience, and financial results of PLAYBOX Croydon.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees every stage of the guest's journey from the booking process to time spent within the space, ensuring the guests have a great experience at every step.

  • Work within the company budgets relating to drink sales, labour & consumables.

  • To ensure the standard of service and guest experience is being delivered by the whole team.

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities. 

  • Manage all aspects of the gaming service within the premises to anticipate and exceed guest expectations.

  • Works closely with the BOXPARK marketing team on promotional strategies to increase revenue. 

  • Works closely with the Head of Events and the sales team on strategies to increase corporate sales within the unit.

  • Troubleshooting and maintaining the equipment, ensuring issues are logged and actioned swiftly to minimise disruption.

  • Knowledge of local regulations related to food safety, hygiene, and general health and safety practices. 

The Ideal Candidate for this role

  • Have an in depth knowledge of leisure offerings from a competitive socialising background.

  • Proven track record of managing teams in a hospitality environment

  • Confident, articulate and presentable.

  • Well-trained with a good understanding of H&S and due diligence

  • Honest, reliable and hard-working

  • Passionate and proactive

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong motivational & people skills

  • Able to build strong working relationships with staff

  • Organised with high attention to detail
