You will help to maintain the physical and microbiological integrity of our products, meeting quality specifications and contributing to a safe and hygienic working environment.

  • Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with half an hour lunch. Working hours on a 2-rotation shift pattern between the hours of  06:00 - 22:00 with a 3-shift facility for night shifts. Shift patterns are designated to meet production requirements and shift start/finish times may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business, localised working patterns will be arranged to suit departmental needs. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate filtration systems to remove unwanted particles and clarify the beer, ensuring consistency and quality in the final product
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on filtration equipment, tanks, and associated machinery to ensure continuous and effective operation
  • Transfer beer from fermenters and process it according to packaging specifications
  • Carry out additional beer processing operations, including but not limited to Krausening, beer transfers and dry hopping
  • Efficiently load and unload bulk beer and cider tankers
  • Conduct quality checks and tests on beer clarity, flavour and appearance at key points in the production process, ensuring adherence to company standards
  • Track and maintain records of test results and analysis data of the filtration process and materials, ensuring company and regulatory compliance
  • Identify and resolve issues, working closely with engineers, laboratory team members and production management
  • Work closely with our Assistant Brewers and Brewing Management Team to drive improvements for an efficient production process.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in the filter room and surrounding areas
  • Any ad hoc tasks as requested by the Brewing and Operations management team

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrable experience in a brewery production environment, with knowledge of filtration processes and equipment, is advantageous
  • Basic knowledge of quality control and testing procedures
  • Forklift or other machinery operation is desirable
  • Proactive approach to learn, understand and operate multiple production processes
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve operational issues and find new ways for process improvement
  • Dedicated approach to health and safety, with the ability to work safely in a fast- paced, physically demanding environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with a focus on quality and consistency
  • Positive and conscientious attitude towards work and fellow team members as well as working independently
  • Flexible approach to rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other production areas, as needed
  • Passion for brewing and a keen interest in the beer-making process
