Head Chef 

About us:

Located in leafy Barnes a stones-throw from Hammersmith Bridge, The Bridge (recently acquired by Young’s) is a welcome respite from London's bustle, run by captain of our ship landlord George with his cracking team. We’re looking a Head Chef who has a passion for crafting a fresh food offer, whilst leading & developing their team.  We’re a friendly, local pub, in a lovely welcoming neighbourhood. We’re looking for our menus to be brimming with seasonal fresh British produce, nostalgic pub classic, and plenty of impressive proper pub classic bar snacks to treat our drinkers.  We’re truly individual; beautiful open fire, a gorgeous Boathouse dining room and walled garden. So special in fact, we also play host to weddings and event hire from time-to-time.

  • Head Chefs get to have full autonomy to create your own menus and specials

What we look for in a Head Chef:

This role requires someone that can inspire a team, to bring out the potential and lead by example whilst being able to develop, cost and produce fresh seasonal menus.

 

  • Have experience championing excellent service through quality food, either as a Head Chef or in the position of Sous Chef aspiring to be a Head Chef (we can offer a ‘Sous to Head development programme or a ‘Head Chef Designate’ route that supports your development prior to appointment
  • Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team
  • Be an active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
  • Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times
  • Be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
  • Maintain a clean, safe and legal kitchen operation at all times
  • Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP and labour
  • Have a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams
