Harbour Hotels Group Operations Manager – Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa

Salary up to £45,000 DOE + quarterly bonus

Hospitality With Personality

At Harbour Hotels, we believe luxury hospitality is about more than beautiful surroundings. It's about the people who create unforgettable experiences within them.

Our growing collection of luxury lifestyle hotels, restaurants and spas can be found in some of the UK's most desirable locations. Each destination is unique, but they all share the same commitment to exceptional hospitality, outstanding service and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

We're looking for people with warmth, energy and personality. People who take ownership, rise to challenges, adapt with confidence and genuinely care about delivering exceptional guest experiences.

If you're passionate about hospitality and want to be part of a business that's ambitious, growing and committed to excellence, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Operations Manager to join the leadership team at Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa.

As Operations Manager, you will be a key member of the senior hotel team, working closely with the General Manager to lead the day-to-day operation and ensure we consistently deliver exceptional standards for our guests.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role. You'll be visible throughout the hotel, supporting and challenging teams, responding to the demands of the day and making sure that our people have what they need to deliver a fantastic guest experience.

Alongside the day-to-day operation, you'll take a strategic and commercial view of the business, helping to drive performance, identify opportunities and ensure the hotel achieves its operational and financial targets.

You will be a key support to the General Manager and will deputise in their absence, so you'll need the confidence and experience to take ownership of the hotel operation and make effective decisions.

You will:

  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership across the hotel operation
  • Support the General Manager in delivering the hotel's operational and commercial strategy
  • Lead and support departmental managers to achieve consistently high standards
  • Champion an exceptional guest experience and respond effectively to operational challenges
  • Drive performance against key operational, financial and guest satisfaction measures
  • Support the development, engagement and performance of our teams
  • Maintain a strong focus on standards, detail and presentation throughout the hotel
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure a seamless guest journey
  • Deputise for the General Manager when required
  • Help create a positive, high-performing culture where our people can thrive
About You

We're looking for a confident hospitality leader who loves being part of the operation.

You'll be someone who naturally leads from the front, builds strong relationships with teams and isn't afraid to get involved when the hotel is busy. Equally, you'll have the commercial awareness and leadership experience to step back, look at the bigger picture and help drive the performance of the business.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Hotel Manager or in a comparable senior hotel leadership role
  • Strong operational knowledge and a genuine passion for hospitality
  • A hands-on and highly visible leadership style
  • Excellent people leadership and team development skills
  • Strong communication and decision-making abilities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of hotel performance
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standards
  • The ability to remain calm and decisive within a fast-paced operation
  • A real passion for delivering memorable guest experiences

Previous experience within a five-star, luxury or premium hospitality environment would be highly desirable.

Most importantly, you'll bring energy, personality and the ability to inspire others while taking real ownership for the performance of the operation.

What's in it for you?

This role offers a salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience, plus a quarterly bonus, alongside our wider Harbour Hotels benefits:
