Description
Principal Duties/Responsibilities
  • The operations behind running a section
  • To monitor and check guest satisfaction
  • Check menu items/changes per shift
  • Table Maintenance
  • Following steps of service
  • Food and Drink knowledge
  • Follow a daily and monthly checklist for all front-of-house cleaning
  • Correct mistakes made by their subordinate immediately
  • Any other work assigned by a senior team member
  • Brand ambassador for food, drink, brand and guest experience


Budgeting and costing

  • To ensure that there are minimal to no mistakes in your section
  • Ensure that you clock in and out on time


Personnel and development:

To ensure regular progress, updates & reviews are conducted between yourself and your supervisor

  • To follow the instruction of your superior, accomplish the task and be able to work to the required standard
  • To continuously perform on-the-job training when needed
  • To participate in all activities of the kitchen and to motivate the team.
  • Ensure that you follow all kitchen procedures and training and adhere to all food safety standards.
  • To demonstrate pride in his workplace and show commitment to its fullest.


Communications and relationships

Internal:

  • Strong relationships with the rest of your team
  • To attend the daily outlet briefing and communicate with the relevant key points to ensure that their section receives all the information.
  • To report all maintenance requirements and hazards in the workplace to superior
  • To actively engage and participate in effective communication within their department.
  • HR issues to the Head of People


Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Experience in working in effective teamwork
  • Experience working under supervision as well as on your own
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and up-to-date on current food trends
  • A willingness to jump in and help with the team when needed
  • A drive to learn and develop your skills in the hospitality industry
  • Good understanding of the logistical and practical day-to-day running of a section


Desirable

  • experience working in a high-volume outlet over various shifts
  • experience in service in a similar style restaurant
