Bua, opened in 2004, is an East Village institution for rock 'n roll, killer bar food and great happy hour deals. Rooted in the gritty downtown vibe of New York's punk rock history, the bar is unpretentious and unassuming, with top notch food and excellent drinks. We're looking for a passionate and dynamic bar manager to join our team!
THE ROLE:
The bar manager will oversee daily operations for Bua. We're looking for a natural leader, problem solver, multi-tasker, and a great communicator. This will be a hybrid role comprised of both bartending and management tasks. This team player will uphold Bua’s standards of excellence in all areas including team management, financial accountability, and guest relations.
WHO YOU ARE:
–NYC restaurant management in a fast-paced environment
– 2+ years of NYC bartending experience with strong knowledge of beer, wine and cocktails
–Approachable leader who is able to motivate and manage a diverse team
–Excellent verbal and written/digital communication skills
–Self-starter who is results-oriented and who appreciates and takes initiative on both the essential details and the bigger picture
–Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution
–NYC Food Handler’s Certificate preferred
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
–Working alongside a co-manager, oversee the day-to-day operations of Bua, including but not limited to, processing payroll, cash handling and reporting, and accounts and invoicing
–Maintain and grow Bua’s culture; cultivating regulars and ensuring personalized, warm and upbeat service
–Manage the FOH and BOH teams on a day-to-day basis
