About the opportunity:
This is your chance to make a real difference across our restaurants.
We’re on the hunt for an Employee Relations Advisor to join us on a fixed-term maternity cover contract of up to 12 months. This role will cover our South UK region which would incude partnering with 12 Regional Operations Managers across 150 restaurants.
You'll be part of our People Team, working with our Southern restaurant teams to support and coach managers through all things employee relations.
Whether it’s handling complex cases, developing ER capability in the field, or helping us maintain our reputation as a fair and supportive employer—you’ll be right at the heart of making Burger King UK a great place to work.
This is a field-based role with regular travel across the Southern region, plus occasional time at Whopper Support for collaboration and team meetings.
What you’ll do:
Be the go-to ER expert for restaurant and support centre managers across the South - circa 150 restaurants
Manage a high volume of cases, including absence, performance, disciplinaries, grievances, and appeals
Coach line managers to improve their ER knowledge and confidence
Ensure policies are followed consistently and fairly, identifying risks and areas for improvement
Escalate complex or high-risk cases when needed to our ER Manager
Support with the creation and delivery of ER training for all levels
Track trends and report insights to help shape policy and strategy
Protect the brand and the business by keeping decisions aligned with employment law and best practice
What you’ll bring:
Solid ER experience across a wide range of complex cases, ideally within a high volume business
A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards it) is a plus
Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law
A pragmatic and fair approach to managing ER situations
Confidence in coaching, challenging, and influencing at all levels
The ability to juggle priorities and work independently
Passion for delivering a brilliant people experience
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
