The role

Burger King UK is growing — fast. With new restaurants opening across the country and bold ambitions for the years ahead, we’re building the finance capability that will help power that growth. To support this, we’re looking for a Group Tax & Reporting Accountant to join us on a part‑time basis, three days per week.

This is a brand‑new role with real ownership, visibility and impact. You’ll be the go‑to expert for all things tax and statutory reporting, ensuring we stay compliant, efficient and ready for the next stage of our journey.

If you thrive in a hands‑on environment where pace, precision and problem‑solving matter, you’ll feel right at home.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take responsibility for delivering accurate, timely and compliant tax and reporting outputs across the Group. Working closely with the Head of Finance, external advisors and internal stakeholders, you’ll ensure our financial foundations are rock‑solid.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the preparation and submission of all UK corporate tax returns, including computations, disclosures and supporting documentation
  • Managing VAT, PAYE and other indirect tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and timely filing
  • Acting as the primary contact for HMRC, managing queries, audits and correspondence
  • Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP
  • Coordinating with external auditors and managing the year‑end audit process
  • Preparing technical accounting papers and supporting the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Maintaining and improving internal controls across tax and reporting processes
  • Providing tax advice on business initiatives, new restaurant openings and commercial projects
  • Supporting cashflow forecasting and tax‑related balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce risk and improve efficiency across the finance function

This is a role where you’ll need to be organised, detail‑driven and comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.

·       Strong experience in corporate tax and statutory reporting, ideally within a multi‑entity or group environment

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Solid technical knowledge of UK tax legislation and UK GAAP
  • Experience managing tax compliance cycles and statutory accounts preparation
  • Confidence working with auditors, advisors and HMRC
  • Excellent analytical skills and a meticulous approach to accuracy
  • The ability to communicate complex information clearly and build strong relationships across the business
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the drive to improve processes and add value
  • High levels of ownership, accountability and professional curiosity

Most importantly, you bring energy, integrity and the desire to make a meaningful impact in a growing business.

The setup

This is an office‑based role, working three days per week from our London headquarters — also known as Whopper Support.

You’ll join a passionate, collaborative Finance team that’s central to shaping how Burger King UK scales in the years ahead. With growth comes opportunity, and you’ll have the space to influence, improve and build something you can be proud of.

If you’re ready to take this on, we’d love to hear from you.
