All positions will initially be offered at the entry-level rate, with consideration for annual increases based on performance assessments.**

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS/ONBOARDING SPECIALIST (BILINGUAL)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The Employee Relations/Onboarding Specialist is responsible for ushering Busboys and Poets’ employees through their job lifecycle with the Company. The Specialist will interface with management and employees for onboarding and separations as well as through employee relations. Duties include posting jobs and maintaining HR administration, onboarding new hires,  providing orientation in English and Spanish, and handling all employee relations issues.

This full-time position is hybrid and requires you to be on location or in the office 30 hours per week.


Essential Functions


  • Manage the administration of the recruiting platform and support the management team with recruiting through postings jobs and open houses, sourcing candidates, interviewing, and reviewing resumes, as needed.

  • Manage onboarding process, including I-9/E-verify compliance, notice of hire/offer letters and onboarding data input as well as keeping up with expiring documents monthly. Additionally, manage the offboarding process at termination, including termination letters and software removal. 

  • Organize and conduct new employee orientation in Spanish/English to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.

  • Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns. Be a liaison between management and employees, responding to work-related concerns.

  • Monitor the HR phone, email and physical mail in order to complete employment verification and garnishment requests

  • Complete unemployment requests and represent the Company at personnel-related hearings/investigations.

  • Submit employee incident reports and worker’s compensation, when needed, and file the annual OSHA Occupational Injuries and Illnesses Report

  • Ensure W-2s, 1099s, and other tax forms are distributed to all employees each January and assist with employee self-retrival of tax information.

  • Organize and analyze employment-related data and submit related reports to government agencies. Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates. Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.

  • Send out exit interviews surveys to hourly employees compiling data and seeking out common themes and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines.

  • Other duties as needed, including assisting with Benefits open enrollment and being available to answer all human resources questions while at the restaurant locations. Serve as the first line of defense for employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, policies, etc. Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations to all staff.

  • Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company's standards and values.


Qualifications: 

Data Entry, Technology savvy, Office Management, Organization, Proficiency in Google/Microsoft Office Suite, Time Management, Strong Written and Verbal Communication, Attention to Detail, Problem-Solving, Multi-tasking, Reporting, Researching, Scheduling, Typing, and Computer Skills. 

Required Education and Experience

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in the human resources field

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in both Spanish and English.

  • Knowledge of talent management strategies and employee engagement practices.

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and administrative processes.

  • Ability to develop training programs tailored to diverse employee needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • This role calls for an individual who is highly adaptable, forward-thinking, and used to working in fast-paced environments.

  • Proven experience in human resources or related field with at least 2 years in an HR role

Salary
