This is an exciting career opportunity to become the figure head for this exciting flagship butchery facility where you will inspire a passionate team and drive production success. It goes without saying that the Head of Production Butchery will be dynamic and impactful and will have an impressive track record of butchery experience and commercial transformation to back you up. You will be setting out the philosophy, showing leadership, developing a team and innovating the processes whilst leading the day-to-day workings of our world-class butchery facility. This is a key role in our business, where you will manage a dedicated team across raw production, cured and cooked production, packaging, and hygiene.
You will not only bring your deep knowledge of butchery and block work to the role, but also your ability to nurture, train, and lead your team to success. You will be a natural organiser, responsible for writing detailed production plans and schedules to meet the diverse requirements of our valued customers. Your strategic approach will ensure that stock levels are always accurate, and you’ll work closely with customers to guarantee the effective and efficient use of the whole carcass.

The Newt Butchery is at the centre of our food production, sourcing beef, lamb and venison, direct from our farm, and pork and poultry from local farms. In June of 2023 the butchery department moved into a brand new state of the art facility, blending raw production, cured an cooked meat production and a visitor attraction hosting workshops and inspiring guests and customers with our nose to tail whole carcass butchery approach. Our aim is to become the leading whole carcass butchery operation in the country. Buying only whole carcass and using the whole animal. We supply our own internal customers from retail to various restaurants, giving us a unique opportunity to utilise everything we buy.
