Byron is growing!!!! We’re expanding with new sites, dark kitchens, and new concepts so we are looking for an Operations Manager based in London and East Anglia. 

 

You will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient operations in up to 9 Byron restaurants so must have proven success in a multi-site role, and as this is a field-based role it will require lots of travel, overnight stays, evening and weekend working.


We are not looking for a Profit & Loss analyst, we want you on the floor driving the teams, we want to see a passionate and engaging leader… an expert in building and developing strong teams, someone with commands high standards whilst ensuring our team provide a memorable Byron experience to both our guests and team members.

 


Your Role Summary:


Operations manager is a Field based role where we manage several restaurants and operational aspects of the restaurants, from budgeting / forecasting to staffing / training and engagement. Ultimately, we are responsible for driving operational efficiency and profitability of the restaurants.

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, mentor, and discipline employees
  • Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing employee’s contribution.
  • Planning and reviewing actions; ensuring teams are working according to policies and procedures at Byron.
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and guest journey standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends within our regions.
  • Forecasting requirements – Support and input on quarterly /annual budgets. Oversee and approve weekly sales and labour schedules, analyse variances, initiating corrective actions.
  • Develop operations systems by determining best practice.
  • Analyse process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes – Dark kitchens (virtual brand)
  • Managing Deliveroo platform – Strategic offers for the region to ensure we grow top line whilst protecting profit on High volume days
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following and ensuring standards and procedures and being complied within legal regulations and Byron policies.
  • Update job knowledge by keeping up to date – This could be reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks i.e.: what other brands are doing.
  • Meet or exceed operations labour budget expectations.
  • Oversee area staff levels, wages, hours and ensure with deliver in line with FLEX.
  • Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees
  • Ensure teams are running a safe, injury/accident-free workplace.
  • Ensure teams are managing contractors carrying out equipment / maintenance checks and intervene where issues occur or are escalated.
  • Manage relationships with key partners i.e.: Deliveroo & Menu partners
  • Review and approve all operational costs associated to F&B, repairs, and maintenance, as well as ancillary items through internal and external suppliers /contractors.
  • Communicate customer issues with restaurant teams and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
  • Work closely with GM and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
  • Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at area meetings.
  • Work closely with the supply chain manager and team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively.
  • Work closely with marketing on relative campaigns to ensure we execute as per brand objectives.
  • Communicate with food safety manager to ensure all processes remain compliant.
