General Description of your role:

Learn and execute basic cooking techniques under the guidance of senior chefs. Follow recipes and instructions to create dishes that meet our quality and presentation standards. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, ensuring equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored. Assist in setting up and stocking the kitchen for service. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and smooth operations during service hours. Participate in learning opportunities, including training sessions and workshops, to develop your culinary skills.

What’s Involved?

  • Accurately measuring meal ingredients for the Chef de Partie.
  • Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits.
  • Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie.
  • Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.
  • Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Storing food preparation and ingredients correctly and ensuring stock rotation.
  • Following company HACCAP procedures and recording correctly where applicable.
  • Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitised.
  • Following specification sheets and recipes set by the Head Chef.
  • Plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef de Partie’s instructions.
