Job Summary
The Food Runner plays a key role in maintaining the flow of service between the kitchen and the front-of-house team, ensuring all food is delivered accurately, efficiently, and at the proper temperature. This position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and extensive menu knowledge to confidently describe each dish, including modifications, upon delivery. Food Runners contribute to smooth service flow by supporting timely service, maintaining presentation standards, and assisting with table maintenance throughout the dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver food promptly from the kitchen to guests, accurately identifying each dish and verifying order details and modifications
Maintain clear and consistent communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth service flow
Ensure all food is served at the appropriate temperature and in accordance with presentation standards
Support table maintenance by assisting with clearing and resetting dishes and utensils as needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with all health and safety regulations
Proactively anticipate the needs of Servers, kitchen staff, and guests during service
Qualifications
Previous experience in a fine-dining or full-service restaurant environment preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to follow verbal instructions provided in English and assist with guest needs or concerns
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for the duration of assigned shifts and lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds
