General description of the role:
Counter staff provides friendly, knowledgeable service to all guests. They ensure all orders are delivered accurately and up to quality standards. They are also responsible for all customer service and store maintenance tasks not associated with ice cream production. There are opening, ongoing, and closing checklists that comprise the role.
Responsibilities:
- Set up front of house workstations with required tools, equipment and supplies according to checklists
- Set up for service at the ice cream counter and coffee bar
- Take orders and run orders with legendary warmth
- Scoop and assemble beautiful affogatos, sundaes, and cups according to standards
- Always seek to make guest experience memorable and positive, regardless of business level
- Assists guests as needed by explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions, providing knowledgeable guidance on retail items as needed
- Complete shift work (opening and closing checklists) thoroughly in accordance with Caffe Panna standards
- Inform Supervisor and Owner of any sub-par product or equipment issues; FOH is the last line of quality control.
- Manage proper storing temperatures according to DOH regulations
- Follow proper rotation procedures according to DOH regulations
- Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
- Maintain sanitation to Department of Health standards; Keep work area clean and organized
- Pack boxes for nationwide shipping and handle wholesale order fulfillment on occasion
- Completes other duties as assigned by management
Essential Functions:
- Able to lift 30+ pounds
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Maintain a friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times, towards the team and guests. It’s ice cream, after all.
- Be a team player—support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
- Able to hold multiple responsibilities within the busy store operation
- Polished personal presentation; Grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook
- Communicates information effectively and efficiently
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions
- Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintains professionalism when working under stress
- Attends mandatory staff meetings
- Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Owner
- Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
