General description of the role

Production Associates at Caffe Panna are responsible for the making of outrageously and unexpectedly delicious ice cream to serve our NYC shop, our nationwide shipping audience, and our wholesale ice cream partners


Responsibilities:

Check production schedule and prep list and establish individual priority items for the day

Take ownership over completion of your tasks as assigned by BOH Supervisor as well as helping others complete theirs quickly and effectively

Set up workstation with required tools, equipment and supplies according to standards

Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to Caffe Panna standards in a time efficient manner

Produce all ice cream bases

Produce all mix-ins and swirls for ice cream flavors

Decide proactively whether product meets or does not meet standards

Track production and inventory according to Caffe Panna standard checklists and tracking mechanisms

Complete shift work (opening and closing checklists) thoroughly and efficiently accordance with standards

Operate and clean ice cream batch freezer according to food safety standards

Manage proper storing temperatures according to DOH regulations

Follow proper rotation procedures according to DOH regulations

Maintain sanitation to Department of Health standards; Keep work area clean and organized

Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely

Inform BOH Supervisor of equipment needs or malfunctions



Essential Functions:

  • Able to lift 30+ pounds
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times, towards the team and guests. It’s ice cream, after all.
  • Be a team player—support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
  • Able to hold multiple responsibilities within the busy store operation
  • Polished personal presentation; Grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook
  • Communicates information effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
  • Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
  • Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintains professionalism when working under stress
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings
  • Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
  • Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
  • Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Owner
  • Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
