About Us
Cambridge Dining Company (CDC Events) is a leading catering and event management company, delivering exceptional food and service for a wide range of events. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our vibrant and supportive team.

As a Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in upholding CDC’s high-quality food standards, ensuring smooth kitchen operations, and delivering exceptional food experiences at both events and in our cafés. You will work closely with the Executive Chef, helping to develop team members and ensure consistency across all services.

Hours
Location: Cambridge | Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE + Bonus Scheme
Full Time | 40 Hours Average Per Week | 5 Days Over 7

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the hospitality/events catering industry
  • Valid Food Safety Level 3 Certificate
  • Strong organisational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including some evenings and weekends
  • Full UK driving licence & must be 25+ for insurance purposes
  • Friendly, proactive, and professional attitude

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead food preparation and execution for events and café operations
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment
  • Support and mentor junior kitchen staff
  • Act as lead chef on multi-event days
  • Liaise with suppliers and assist with stock ordering
  • Ensure food cost control in line with budget
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and health & safety legislation
  • Drive company vehicles to and from events
