Breakfast Manager – Canal Restaurant, Westbourne Park, London

Join HAM Restaurants as our Breakfast Manager and lead the morning experience at Canal Restaurant!

From the team behind Crispin and Bistro Freddie, Canal is the newest addition to our growing family, a vibrant waterside restaurant and bar celebrating quality ingredients, seasonal cooking, music, and community. Set in a stunning East London location - located on the Grand Union Canal, inside the brand-new Mason & Fifth hotel. Canal has quickly made its mark as a warm, buzzing space built on creativity, confident hospitality, and a passion for great food and wine.

The Breakfast Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire breakfast and lunch service operation at Canal, ensuring that all aspects of service, menu execution, and guest experience meet the highest standards. The role involves menu development, supervision of breakfast/lunch team, and maintaining efficient service delivery to provide guests with an exceptional start to their day. As an integral member of the front-of-house management team, the Breakfast Manager upholds the restaurant’s values and hospitality standards throughout all breakfast/lunch service periods.

What You’ll Do:

  • Implement & Deliver High Standards - Manager breakfast and lunch service, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
  • Menu & Development: Collaborate closely with Canal management team to develop vibrant breakfast offerings and creative promotions.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire, train, and develop the breakfast/lunch service team, fostering a positive, learning-focused culture where people can grow.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage prep, ordering, rotas, and kitchen organisation to maintain smooth, efficient service.
  • Quality & Consistency: Maintain high standards in food, beverage, and coffee service, ensuring an exceptional experience that reflects the Canal ethos.
  • Financial Awareness: Support with stock control, food & beverage costing, and GP targets – in line with agreed budgets, to balance creativity with commercial success.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain good hygiene, allergen procedures, health & safety and food safety compliance, ensuring a safe and professional working environment.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with FOH and management teams to deliver seamless guest experiences.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in breakfast management, cafe management, or hotel supervisory roles.
  • Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills, able to inspire, support, and challenge your team in equal measure
  • Highly organised, calm under pressure, and confident in leading service
  • Skilled in menu planning, costing, and breakfast/lunch operations
  • A hands-on, collaborative approach - leading by example and setting the tone for professionalism and passion
  • Passion for hospitality and good knowledge of wine, cocktails, and spirits (WSET Level 2+ desirable).
  • Proven experience with coffee service and training.
