Description

We’re looking for a Night Shift Engineer to join our team and take ownership of all maintenance issues across our hotels and commercial properties during overnight hours. Your key responsibility will be to ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for guests and staff throughout the night.

This role is ideal for someone reliable, self-sufficient, and comfortable working independently during unsupervised hours.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform overnight maintenance and emergency repairs across hotel and commercial properties

  • Address urgent guest or property issues promptly and professionally

  • Plumbing: Unblock drains/toilets, repair/replace taps and fittings

  • Electrical: Replace lamps/fittings, sockets, and switches

  • HVAC: Perform basic maintenance including filter cleaning/replacement

  • Conduct regular overnight H&S checks, including fire alarm testing, water temperature monitoring, and showerhead descaling

  • Ensure maintenance records are updated and tasks are logged correctly

  • Report and escalate any critical issues for follow-up during the day shift


Person Specification:
  • Previous maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel or hospitality environment preferred

  • Comfortable working alone during night shifts

  • Good communicator with solid problem-solving skills

  • Awareness of Health & Safety regulations

  • Flexible and proactive approach to work

  • City & Guilds Level 2 in a trade (preferred but not essential)
