Purpose of Position
To assist the Executive Chef with the management, direction, and organization of Captain Whidbey’s Restaurant and Bar operations in order to maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service.

Position Mission/Overview
This job contributes to the success of Captain Whidbey’s restaurant by ensuring our all service standards are met. We do this by consistently delivering truly personalized service to every guest, every moment of every day. This job also performs additional responsibilities as needed to help the department manager with daily operating procedures such as maintaining quality operations and maximizing financial contributions.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
• To support the sales of all food and beverages.
• To coordinate the activities of the staff in order to deliver quality product and service to all guest.
• Move throughout the restaurant, bar and patio areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food and beverage quality and service standards are met.
• Verify temperatures, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality.
• Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.
• Support Hotel General Manager with maintaining established inventory by ordering all liquor and supplies in accordance with business needs.
• Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies and stocking by stooping, bending, lifting heavy articles and reaching overhead.
• Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancing measures.
• Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
• Ensures merchandising guidelines and cleanliness standards are exceeded.
• Assist in the completion of the training of new associates.
• Maintains extensive product knowledge by keeping educated on new product information.
• Assist in the completion of the training of new associates.
• Provides associates with a safe and hazard free work environment.
• Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
• Assist the general manager in attaining the weekly budgeted payroll percent.
• Assist in the incorporating of daily goals from a monthly budget.
Position Expectations
• Ensure a safe working environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents through continual repair and maintenance of restaurant.
• Staff, train and develop restaurant hourly employees through orientations, ongoing feedback, and establishment of performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews.
• Manage all shifts, which include daily decision-making, staff support, scheduling and planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
• Responsible for all personnel/payroll related administrative duties, completed accurately, on time and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• The Restaurant Manager supports the restaurant's mission, by providing leadership to associates through training, leading by example, having thorough knowledge of all positions being supervised, and achieves all operational financial goals.
• The Restaurant Manager will need to be ready to handle any possible guest and/or operational issues, act professional in every occasion, and as an effect make every guest's dining experience pleasantly unforgettable and will take appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return customers. Our internal guests (associates) are as important as our external guests. The manager must guarantee a fair treatment, and meet or exceed their expectations. Observe and supervise associate performance and secure that they perform their duties/tasks according to the operations.

Education/Vocational Experience
The education, specialized training, required licenses or certifications and/or years of directly related experience required to enter this job:
• Four-year college degree (B.A.); five years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of employment in a relative position in this or another company and in a restaurant supervisory position.
