Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Banquet Manager / FOH Event Manager to join our team in New York City. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of various events, ensuring seamless logistics and exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event management, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.


Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Be an Ambassador of JAG culture, history, and mission.

  • Work closely with leaders to achieve and maintain the best quality and cost controls. As well as assisting with onboarding and training new associates with event setup.

  • Provide requirements and needs for successful event production and execution

  • Manage a large roster of hourly team members

  • Ensure proper service for events planning, including set-up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.

  • Develop and maintain effective communication between multiple stakeholders

  • Control inventory levels, PARs, and record keeping.

  • Ensure the most accurate accounting procedures for staffing, food, and beverage costs such as invoice processing.

  • Check all food & beverage deliveries for accuracy and quality 

  • Maintain food, beverage, and supplies in their proper storage areas.

  • Facilitate the delivery of prepared food and set up of services 

  • Required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by senior leadership

Qualifications

  • Requires at least 2 years of experience leading upscale, high-touch events; interacting directly with planners and clients.

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and follow-up.

  • Passion and ability to create and share best practices

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

  • Ability to work well under pressure, be able to multi-task, stay focused and resolve problems using good judgement. 

  • Excellent mathematical skills and invoice processing

  • Available to work event-based hours.

  • Excellent communications skills; verbal and written.

  • Complete Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required.

  • Ability to bend, stoop and lift 50lbs. minimum; walk and stand 50% of the day.

  • Highly skilled with computers, including thorough knowledge and experience with cloud-based technology and MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Google Workspace experience a plus.
