Pay Rate Range: $25.00 - $29.00

Position Summary:

The Catering Lead is responsible for coordinating and executing catering orders from preparation through delivery and setup.  This role ensures excellent customer service, food quality, and timely execution of events, while serving as the point of contact between clients and the kitchen.

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Receive internal and external orders, ensure quality and accuracy, timely deliver and setup, and take full ownership of presentation and refreshing of catering orders.
  • Ensure all food and beverages are prepared to quality standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct audits of service standards and processes and sharing performance feedback with the management team.
  • Act as the main liaison between catering clients and the kitchen team.
  • Lead and supervise event logistics, including setup, service, and breakdown as needed.
  • Train and supervise catering staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, and customer feedback.
  • Oversee and facilitate regular inventory audits, ensure equipment and supplies are clean, organized, and ready at all times.
  • Always uphold food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Promote a positive brand image through professional interactions and service.

Qualifications:

  • Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of the banquet area.
  • Relay food and beverage orders.
  • Displays a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments. 
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relay important information about orders, allergies, and special requests to the appropriate person.
  • Respond urgently and appropriately to any concerns.
  • Present in professional appearance and mannerisms. 
  • High school diploma or GED required, culinary or hospitality education a plus.
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in catering, food service or hospitality.
  • Previous Supervisory experience preferred, with prior experience working in a similar role, ideally in a corporate setting. 
  • Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with maintaining industrial kitchen equipment and operations.

Skills & Conditions:

  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage inventory levels and keep the pantry clean and organized. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization. 
  • Knowledge of basic food safety principles, including proper storage and handling perishable items. 
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative to identify and address issues as they arise. 
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and email.
  • Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Must have problem-solving abilities, be self-motivated, and be organized.
  • This position will spend 100% of the time standing or walking.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending
  • Availability to work Monday - Friday from 10:30AM - 7PM.
