Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager:

The Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the Cava Foods Food Safety and Quality Assurance program. The FSQA Manager will ensure adherence to all regulatory and 3rd party food safety requirements and manage a small team of Quality Assurance Technicians. The ideal candidate works well within a cross functional management team, has a passion for safe, high quality food and can easlity adapt to a dynamic environment.

 

What You’ll Do:

·       Maintain and improve the plant’s Food Safety Plans and quality management systems. This includes allergen management, training, GMP, sanitation, internal audits and other pre-requisite programs.

·       Manage and facilitate growth of quality assurance technicians.

·       Maintain all regulatory certificates (Examples: State, FDA, GFSI, Organic, Kosher). 

·       Lead and train staff in the cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, including the use of manual and automated cleaning systems CIP - (Clean in Place), as well as required validation documentation.

·       Manage food safety related third party vendors for pest management, chemical supplier and 3rd party sanitation (If needed).

·       Maintain manufacturing specifications, standards, protocols and procedures for new product development, quality control and processing. 

·       Track and investigate complaint trends and utilize reporting to help communicate findings. 

·       Manage environmental monitoring, internal audit, as well as product hold and release programs. 

·       Assist in supplier management reviews and performance monitoring.

·       Manage and support traceability and recall programs.  

·       Provide technical support and expertise in quality related problem solving, risk analysis and crisis management. 

·       Actively contribute to continuous improvement of plant processes and make strategic recommendations to the management team to correct program deficiencies.

·       Ensure all production quality and food safety checks are performed accurately and product is handled appropriately.

·       Work well with cross functional partners and as part of a supportive management team.

 

The Qualifications:

·       5+ years of experience in food manufacturing with management experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in food science, food safety, food technology, microbiology, food technology, chemistry or related field.

·       Experience working with and developing a Food Safety Plan and Preventative Controls, HACCP, Sanitation, and product testing programs.

·       BRC and High Pressure Processing experience preferred.

·       Strong organization, leadership and communication skills

·       Must work well in a team environment

·       Ability to work flexible hours

·       Proficient in MS Office programs

·       PCQI Certified
