The Title: 

Lead Operator Warehouse 

 

 
The Role: 
As a Warehouse Lead, you will contribute to CAVA’s success receiving and off-loading truckloads of incoming raw materials and finished goods; maintaining an organized warehouse; picking, packing and shipping sales and transfer orders. Warehouse team members receive and inspect in-bound trucks, store pallets, organize the warehouse, organize the storage coolers, stage ingredients for the production team, and load trailers for shipment. Your work will ensure that materials are received, stored, rotated, pulled, shipped and documented in a safe and effective manner. You will report directly to the Procurement & Inventory Manager.   

      

What You will Do:  

  • Coordinate and receive incoming deliveries and properly warehouse raw materials and finished goods, ensuring all loads are properly inspected and documented. 
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of docks, dry warehouse and cold storage rooms. 
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks and pallet jacks, maintaining required safety training and certifications. Achieve trainer certification and train others. 
  • Conduct minor preventative maintenance activities on dock and material handling equipment. 
  • Using generated work orders, select raw materials from warehouse locations and deliver to processing floor. Properly scan barcodes and maintain documentation as required. 
  • Pick, pack and palletize outgoing orders and load outbound trucks, ensuring proper documentation. Enter product and order tracking data into inventory system and print labels and packing lists. 
  • Support raw material and finished goods inventory counts. 
  • Perform and maintain documentation for daily warehouse temperature logs. 
  • Ensure communication with the prep team lead, Inventory and Procurement Coordinator, and Logistics Manager to ensure timely and efficient work around the warehouse. 
  • Follow all food safety, employee safety, and all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices). 
  • You will be responsible for training new team members. 
  • Train and oversee new warehouse team members 
  • Embrace continuous improvement.  
  • Lead teams to accomplish priorities and initiatives with the impact for the guest in mind 
  • Effectively communicate goals, priorities, and action items to direct reports; actively give feedback on progress updates 
  • Conduct impactful and meaningful DE&I conversations within team and organization 
  • Create opportunities for Team Members to grow in their roles and progress into higher roles in the organization 
  • Execute effective decision-making skills to led team to succeed 
  • Oversee innovative solutions proposed by direct reports 
  • Maintain emotional stability in stressful situations; lead by example for how our team should handle adversity

The Qualifications: 

  • 3-4 years experience working in a warehouse environment 
  • 3+ years experience operating material handling equipment, including forklifts 
  • Food manufacturing/warehousing experience preferred.  
  • You must be able to begin work between 6:00am and 6:30am Monday Through Thursday and between 7:00am and 8:00am Fridays, you must be able to work between 8 - 10 hours per day, depending on the workload. We target 5 days and 40 hrs. 
  • You must be able to proficiently operate a Forklift and electric jacks. 
  • You must demonstrate proper clock management and maintain strong attendance. 
  • You must be able to read and follow instructions and procedures to ensure tasks are done properly. 
  • You must maintain close concentration and visual attention to assigned tasks. 
  • You must be willing and able to follow instructions. 
  • You must have good verbal communication skills. 
  • You must be willing and able to work efficiently, with alacrity, keeping safety a priority. 
  • You must have some familiarity with smart phones, tablets, computers, and email. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Physical dexterity, ability to lift, up to 60lbs.and push/pull pump jacks with up to 2,500 lbs. Weight on.  
  • The ability to work in varied environmental conditions (dry, cold)  
  • The ability to stand and work on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day  
  • Must be able to identify, assess and observe detail  
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively.  
  • Ability to squat, kneel, bend and twist 
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
