Senior Plant Manager: 
The Senior Plant Manager must maintain and improve the operations of the CAVA Products Commissary in Verona, VA. The role oversees employees, production, quality and distribution to support the consumer-packaged goods business and our CAVA locations throughout the US. The Plant Manager will report to the Director of Operations of CAVA Products. 

 

What You’ll Do:  

  • Direct day to day operations of the plant - production/packaging of our CAVA Products dips and spreads for distribution. 
  • Manage commissary staff, including hiring, payroll, scheduling, and employee performance. 
  • Ensure the highest food safety and quality standards – monitor quality assurance and drive continuous improvement of food safety and quality management systems.  Support all regulatory compliance.  
  • Work with the procurement & logistics team to help manage supply chain, production planning and product movement. 
  • Plan and coordinate equipment and facility maintenance projects. 
  • Serve as the primary contact for third-party operations. 
  • Establish a culture of excellence, trust, and responsibility within the Commissary team operations team that align with CAVA’s values 
  • Set the example across department or team of a service mindset 
  • Effectively communicate goals, priorities, and action items to direct reports; actively give feedback on progress updates.   
  • Lead without hidden agenda or preferential treatment. 
  • Provide insightful and actionable feedback for our team to develop, and monitor their own performance 
  • Support all team members and serve as a backup for direct reports as necessary. 
  • Foster a trusting and supportive environment by actively listening; allow direct reports to grow within their roles. 

 

The Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the food manufacturing industry 
  • Prior management experience – Ability to lead/motivate a team, familiar with staff scheduling, knowledgeable of staffing processes, procedures and labor laws 
  • Experience in working with ERP and Plant Maintenance software applications 
  • Solid understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP standards 
  • Process oriented - Ability to understand and manage personnel and delivery schedules, production quotas and operating within a budget 
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience with long term capacity planning and vendor management 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferable 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree/experience in related field 
 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Physical dexterity, ability to lift up to 45lbsand push/pull rolling bowls, carts, and containers with up to 550 lbs of product.  
  • The ability to work in varied environmental conditions (dry, cold)  
  • The ability to stand and work on feet for 8 to 10 hours at a time  
  • Must be able to identify, assess and observe detail  
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively.  
  • Ability to squat, kneel, bend and twist 
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner 
  • Allergens: We prepare products with milk and sesame containing ingredientsTeam members must be able to work with these ingredients.
