The Role!

As Commissary Coordinator, you will contribute to CAVA’s success by coordinating team members, manage production and logistics activities, efficiently monitoring procedures and standards to achieve consistent high-quality products produced in an efficient time and manner. Our ideal Commissary Coordinator is self-motivated, highly organized natural leader and perform duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise Production team members.
• Coordinate and delegate daily production and logistics tasks.
• Address minor issues as they arise and work with Production Supervisor or General Manager to resolve.
• Coordinate production schedule with the prep, batching and packaging team.
• Create Production work orders in Sage/X3 according to the weekly production schedule.
• Monitor raw material preparation, batching process and product packaging line, communicate deviations to the production and general managers in a timely manner.
• Maintain food safety and quality by ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Monitor and ensure compliance of Sanitation, Quality Assurance and Food Safety Plan logs.
• Demonstrate and effectively communicate to team members the setup, operations, safety protocols, cleaning requirements and basic maintenance of batching equipment including (but not limited to): Vertical cutter mixers, paddle mixers, scales, product bowls and other raw material prep equipment.
• Monitor raw materials and dry good materials inventory on daily basis to avoid any shortage in Production.
• Assure coordination with other departments to ensure efficient flow of operations through the production facility from raw materials receiving and finished goods shipment.
• Perform Inventory cycle counts on daily, weekly and monthly basis from raw, bulk and finished good materials, work closely with Inventory Control Manager on monthly cycle counts.
• Establish excellent relationships with vendors, suppliers and buyers via emails, phone call, text, etc.
• Work closely with General Manager on weekly Production Planning and coordinate with Prep team for following raw materials preparation.
• Manage raw material and supply purchases to ensure inventory is maintained for production volumes.
• Manage and coordinate documentation for inbound and outbound logistics to and from HPP facility.
• Communicate weekly forecast schedule to HPP services the week prior Production.
• Create and transmit invoices to wholesale customers.
• Control and Monitor all pick and pack procedures for weekly distributor orders.

The skills!
• 4+ years in experience working in a food production facility.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing supervisor role or equivalent to lead.
• 2+ years in experience in HACCP, QA/QC, Food Safety, FSMA procedures or standards.
• 2+ years in experience of Food Processing equipment and PM’s knowledge.
• Ability to converse with team members in both English and Spanish
• Proficient computer skills and technological devices.
• Proficient in Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and PP slides.
• Proficient writing and reading skills in English or Spanish (Both Preferred).
• Manager Food Handler Certification
• FSQI Certification (Preferred)
• SQF Any levels Experience (Preferred)
• Osha Certification or Workplace Safety Training classes (preferred)
