Job description
We're looking for a bar manager for an event space on the Lower East Side for evening shifts. Candidates should be outgoing, able to handle high-stress situations, and excited about our mission of producing high-quality intellectual entertainment. Experience in ticketed event-based settings a plus. A valid New York City Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection is required.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Hiring, training, and scheduling bartenders
- Maintaining and updating the menu of beer and wine
- Maintaining and ordering stock and supplies
- Maintaining and improving internal systems for sales and management
- Oversight of receipts and cash deposits
- Ensuring the bar and storage areas are clean and well-maintained
- Communicating with production staff to ensure smooth running of bar and shows
