Role Overview:

  • The Construction Assistant Site Manager supports the Site Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations on a construction site. This role involves assisting with site supervision, ensuring safety protocols are followed, coordinating with workers and subcontractors, and helping to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Assist the Site Manager in overseeing and directing construction activities on the site.
  • Coordinate with the Site Manager, project managers, architects, engineers, and other professionals to facilitate seamless project execution.
  • Serve as a point of contact for workers, addressing questions and concerns as they arise.
  • Support the implementation of quality control measures to ensure construction work meets specified standards and adheres to building codes and regulations.
  • Assist in conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and rectify any quality issues.
  • Assist in implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in regular safety briefings and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in allocating and managing resources and ensure that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure timely delivery and availability of materials and equipment on-site.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of site activities, including daily logs, timesheets, and incident reports.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting regular reports on project progress, including work completed, delays, and any changes to the schedule.
  • Support the Site Manager in coordinating with stakeholders to find solutions to construction challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and organised project records, including contracts, change orders, and inspection reports and ensure all documentation is up to date and in compliance with local regulations



About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS, OSHA) are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a construction-related role, with some experience in a supervisory or assistant management capacity preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
