Capital are looking for a dynamic Health and Safety Manager to play a crucial
role in managing health and safety standards across multiple construction
sites. Working closely with Project Managers and Site Managers, you will ensure
compliance with relevant legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2022
(BSA 2022) and the new regulatory framework. You will be responsible for
promoting a safety culture and supporting site teams with inspections, audits,
and ensuring the highest standards of safety on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all construction
projects comply with the latest health and safety regulations, including the
Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) and the Building
Safety Act 2022.
- On-site Health & Safety Standards: Support Site Managers
in maintaining high on-site health and safety standards, ensuring all safety
protocols are followed, and potential hazards are identified and managed.
- Site Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular site
inspections and audits, working closely with site teams to identify potential
hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Risk Assessments & Method Statements: Develop, review,
and implement comprehensive risk assessments and method statements specific to
each construction project.
- Training & Induction: Provide health and safety training
and toolbox talks for all site personnel. Lead induction sessions for new
staff, ensuring they understand the importance of on-site health and safety.
- Accident Investigation: Lead investigations into any
accidents or incidents on-site, ensuring appropriate actions are taken, lessons
are learned, and future risks are minimised.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers and Site
Managers to create and maintain a safe working environment, offering expert
guidance on health and safety matters.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure familiarity with the Building
Safety Act 2022 and the requirements of the new regulatory framework, ensuring
Piccadilly Construction complies with all relevant safety standards and
protocols.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement health and safety
policies tailored to each project, ensuring alignment with current legislation
and best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of health and safety
documentation, including accident reports, inspections, training logs, and risk
assessments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
with a Principal or Main Contractor, within the construction sector.
- Qualifications: NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction
Health and Safety or equivalent (essential). IOSH membership is desirable.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of UK health and safety
legislation, particularly the Building Safety Act 2022, CDM 2015 regulations,
and the new regulatory framework.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organisational
skills. Ability to influence and drive safety culture across all levels of the
organisation.
- Additional: A valid UK driving licence is required for
regional site visits.
