The Alverton Hotel - Kitchen

Description

About us
The Cornwall Hotel Collection is a locally owned group of four distinctive hotels, each with its own character, history and sense of place. It is united by heartfelt Cornish hospitality and the people who bring it to life, from The Alverton in Truro and The Atlantic on Newquay’s dramatic north coast, to The Greenbank and The Falmouth, two of the town’s icons for generations.

We’re proud of our heritage, passionate about great food and drink, and committed to creating memorable experiences. Just as importantly, we want our hotels to be great places to work, where people can feel part of the team, develop their skills and build a career in hospitality.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at The Alverton. Working alongside our Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards and helping to create memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for your designated section of the kitchen.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team during service.
  • Ensure food preparation areas are clean, organised and well stocked.
  • Follow all food hygiene, health & safety and allergen procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
  • Support and guide junior members of the kitchen team where required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen is essential.
  • Experience working as a Chef de Partie or a strong Commis Chef ready to take the next step.
  • Passion for food, cooking and delivering high standards.
  • Good organisation and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays where required.
Benefits
  • 100% shared tips
  • Full training
  • Opportunities to grow and progress within our collection
  • Staff discount, including room rates, food and drink, spa treatments and free use of our leisure clubs (gym & swimming pool) across our four hotels
  • Company Pension Contributions
  • The chance to participate in charity fundraisers and environmental initiatives
  • Staff rewards and parties
