The Falmouth Hotel - Maintenance

Description
About us

The Cornwall Hotel Collection is a locally owned group of four distinctive hotels, each with its own character, history and sense of place. It is united by heartfelt Cornish hospitality and the people who bring it to life, from The Alverton in Truro and The Atlantic on Newquay’s dramatic north coast, to The Greenbank and The Falmouth, two of the town’s icons for generations.

We’re proud of our heritage, passionate about great food and drink, and committed to creating memorable experiences. Just as importantly, we want our hotels to be great places to work, where people can feel part of the team, develop their skills and build a career in hospitality.

We are looking for a reliable, practical and proactive Maintenance Operative to join the team at The Falmouth on a full-time basis. Working alongside the maintenance team, you’ll help keep the hotel safe, comfortable and running smoothly for our guests and colleagues.

  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.

  • Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or repairs requiring specialist attention.
  • Assist with basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and other general maintenance tasks where appropriate.
  • Keep tools, equipment and maintenance areas clean, organised and safe.
  • Support external contractors when required.
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and use equipment safely.
Requirements
  • Previous maintenance or practical experience is desirable.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to learn.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
  • A proactive attitude and pride in maintaining high standards.
  • Good communication skills and a helpful, professional manner.
  • Able to work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Benefits
  • 100% shared tips
  • Full training
  • Opportunities to grow and progress within our collection
  • Staff discount, including room rates, food and drink, spa treatments and free use of our leisure clubs (gym & swimming pool) within our four hotels
