The Restaurant Stylist assembles interior design palettes, researches and sources décor items, artifacts, greenery, retail items, restaurant accessories (including but not limited to uniforms, plateware, glassware) and packaging consistent with assigned brand/s for new, ongoing and reconcepted stores and present to Interior Design team, Divisional Partners and Restaurant Managers.

 

Essential Functions

  • Assemble interior design palettes, research and source décor items, artifacts, greenery, retail items, restaurant accessories (including but not limited to uniforms, plateware, glassware) and packaging consistent with assigned brand/s for new, ongoing and reconcepted stores and present to Interior Design team, Divisional Partners and restaurant Managers
  • Research and continually cultivate new sources for uniforms, plateware, restaurant accessories, lighting, greenery, artifacts and miscellaneous décor
  • Shop online and in local retail outlets for décor during restaurant remodeling and openings
  • Pick up and drop off furniture, fabrics, fixtures, finishes and other design elements between Chicago area showrooms and LEYE locations in variable traffic conditions using transportation as needed
  • Model and promote teamwork across all teams
  • Work with and communicate directly with Company’s Founder and Company’s Chairman on special interior design projects
  • Work with Graphic Design team on various collateral including menu holders, check presenters and additional branding for retail items, ensuring consistency with restaurant concept and interior design
  • Assemble materials for presentations
  • Cultivate and maintain a strong knowledge base of color design and technology, and design trends in art, architecture, artifacts, fashion, interior design and restaurant design.
  • Work with Partners to prepare and submit purchase orders to vendors and track orders of interior design project elements utilizing standard LEYE operating procedures, and communicate with vendors and purchasing agents
  • Organize, continuously update and assist in developing the interior design library of physical and/or digital samples
  • Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges pertaining to guests, vendors and employees, and respond with patience and courtesy
  • Attend design seminars and courses and fairs for continuing education at the discretion of supervisor
  • Proficiently use and operate all necessary tools, equipment and software, including but not limited to MS Word/Excel
  • Work a variety of days and shifts including weekends and nights with occasional travel to local and out-of-state projects and sites 
  • Effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
  • Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Work in a confined, crowded space of variable light, noise and temperature levels
  • Move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces
  • Ability to travel locally to/from restaurants, materials shops, design district, furniture, décor and restaurant goods shops
