Role Overview

As a Dishwasher at Chotto Matte San Francisco, you play an essential role in keeping our service running smoothly. You’ll maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization, ensuring that our chefs and servers can focus on delivering an exceptional dining experience. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented position that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a sense of pride in your work.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, kitchen floors, trash receptacles, and related areas.
• Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Support kitchen staff by returning clean wares and equipment promptly to their stations.
• Assist with polishing glassware when needed.
• Follow all sanitation and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health standards.
• Communicate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying of up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in hot, humid, or wet environments, as well as refrigerated spaces.
• Must be able to use dishwashing machines, sinks, and cleaning tools safely and effectively.
• Requires repetitive hand and arm movements for scrubbing, lifting, and handling dishware.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dishwasher, steward, or porter in a high-volume restaurant or hotel is a plus.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
