Job Class: Full-Time/ Exempt/ Salaried

Position Summary
The Venue Manager is responsible for oversight and day to day management of all aspects of the City Winery venue operations. This role coordinates with venue operations and production teams to align and ensure fulfillment of all essential guest and artist needs prior to arrival, ensuring optimal venue experience. Always operate highly functional and smoothly operating venue; provide service teams with the tools to succeed during service and make sure all facility equipment is fully operational. The Venue Manager will also be responsible for programming entertainment, educational, and other miscellaneous events in the Haymarket lounge space.

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years’ management experience in a multi-faced, high volume restaurant, venue, and/or equivalent relevant experience
• Exceptional hospitality skills
• Proven leadership skills and commitment to operational excellence
• Ability to successfully delegate and manage several tasks at once in high volume, fast paced environment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
• Functional knowledge of health department and related regulations
• Able to work rapidly, especially during peak periods to ensure that all guests are being serviced properly and necessary operational tasks are being completed in a timely manner
• Must be fluently literate in English including ability to read, write, and communicate, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data
• Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Able and willing to work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Overview of Responsibilities

General Management
• Oversee and handle all aspects of the day to day venue operations. Ensure successful execution of shows, events and daily activity
• Foster positive Company culture, build morale, and create on-going positive work environment and maintain a productive and professional workforce
• Direct and oversee proper and continued training of staff. Monitor management teams to ensure they are developing direct reports
• Support interviewing, staff selection, performance monitoring and coaching of venue staff
• Conduct disciplinary action as needed, including termination, when necessary in partnership with GM & HR and in accordance with Company policies and guidelines
• Assist in conducting staff meetings regularly to ensure effective and clear communication including management meetings, BEO meetings
• Ensure safe working environment in all areas

Artist Hospitality
• Manage all artist expectations with their Concert manager leading up to as well as on the day of a show
• Prepare concert team with artists’ needs including hospitality, merchandising, guest lists, and arranged performance-day meet-and-greets
• Lead a weekly meeting with the Concert Team to review hospitality for shows 10 days out to plan for artist needs
• Coordinate necessary purchases for artist hospitality needs; work with AGM on purchasing approval
• Monitor concert BEOs to ensure all operational & production needs are entered prior to BEO meetings
• Direct artist management to supply their artist guest lists in advance, or by 4:00 day of show
• Facilitate a show folder at the concierge stand day-of-show prepped with a BEO containing artist name(s), size of band, arrival times, sound check times, hospitality needs, and additional production or operational needs that pertain to the show (i.e. meet-and-greets or special floor set ups)
• Determine before an artist arrives how many people from the band’s camp are on site during sound check and seek new opportunities to form and maintain partnerships with outside organizations beyond CW’s four walls (i.e. Summer stage).
• Collaborate with Marketing Team on creation of promotional material.
• Assist with production/advance at shows and events onsite and off as needed.
• Coordinate a proper handoff of all artist settlements and monitor finalization of settlements
• Facilitate guest list interaction on a show-to-show basis.


Service
• Sign off on server stations on the nightly floor chart
• Ensure the proper promo material is in use for service for check presenters; communicate details in pre-service meeting
• Manage Artist Wine program on the night of a show
• Review list of VIPs with Concert Captain and facilitate any special greeting upon VIPs’ arrival
• Coordinate meet-and-greet details with service team pre-service
• Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, décor, and service tools
• Manage venue staffing, including hiring, training, discipline and sales incentives
• Lead daily pre-service meetings
• Participate in coordination of new staff training and menu launches
• Schedule all Venue personnel (Engineers, Concert Managers, Servers, Bartenders, etc.,)

Perform any and all other related functions, projects, initiatives as per business need
