Position Summary
A City Winery Receiver is responsible for managing the logistics of receiving goods into the warehouse or storage facility. Their job involves receiving shipments, checking for damages, sorting stock, and updating inventory records.


Overview of Responsibilities

● Maintain open line of communication with kitchen
● Refer to email for the nightly End Of Night Report for communications from Closing Manager to all BOH managers. Check with the Events’ Team for information on rentals needed for upcoming events. Stay well informed about all the shipments/packages for events & service, where they’ll need to be been placed, and how/when they’ll need to be pulled out for the event. Be sure to articulate storage of packages to the event’s owner
● Take receipt of all deliveries at loading dock
● Compare existing Purchase Orders (supplied by Executive/Sous Chef), with each
delivery invoice to carefully identify and cross check the actual product delivered with the products listed on the invoice
● Check for product expiration date and freshness level, as well as dented cans.
Return/Separate any damaged items – do NOT put items into active inventory
● Store received products in the walk-in cooler, freezer, or dry storage area,
maintaining the organizational system already in place at each location
● Once the product has been properly stored make a copy of the invoice for your
own records. Sign and date the original invoice and leave it for the Executive/Sous Chef in designated area
● Any product that is deemed “unacceptable”, if we have been shorted product or
any product has been rejected or returned must be immediately communicated to the AM Lead, Sous Chefs and/or the Executive Chefs
● Check the stock frequently and submit orders to the Executive/Sous Chefs whenever supplies are low.  In general, the linen vendor makes deliveries three times per week: on Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Minimum Qualifications

●       Warehouse experience

●       Forklift operator's license (preferred)

●       Organizational skills

●       Physical stamina and strength

●       Strong communication skills

●       Ability to think quickly and resolve issues

●       Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, able to lift loads of up to 50 lbs.  Able to work rapidly, especially during peak periods to ensure that all guests are being serviced properly and necessary operational tasks are being completed in a timely manner
