Description
Job Title: Seasonal Bartender
Reports to: Greenway Manager
Status: Non-Exempt // Tipped

City Winery on the Greenway is an outdoor pop-up wine garden operating four days a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from May to October. This urban oasis is conveniently located at Dewey Square, which is one of the most picturesque sections of downtown Boston. The wine garden will be a fun and friendly destination for all to gather, play, and unwind. We will be serving up wine on tap made locally here in downtown Boston, and are proud to feature a variety of reds, whites, and of course, rosé, all season long! In addition, we are also partnering up with Harpoon, a local brewery to offer you the best craft beer. There will also be a special culinary menu that is globally influenced, wine-inspired and locally sourced featuring everything from cheese plates, olives, hummus, and desserts.

Position Summary
Bartenders are responsible for delivering consistently exceptional guest experiences to patrons of City Winery. Duties include preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for all patrons, taking orders and serving food as needed, assessing guest needs and making recommendations. This is a seasonal position that requires open availability.

Minimum Qualifications
1+ years as a bartender in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment and/or equivalent relevant experience
Strong knowledge of wine, craft beer and craft spirits
Strong work ethic and exceptional guest service skills
Polished presentation
Effective communication skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to perform physical requirements of the role including standing/walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds

Responsibilities
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons within standards of City Winery
Perform opening and closing duties including set-up and breakdown of the area
Interact with guests, take orders, and serve food as needed
Assess guest needs and preferences, provide recommendations to upsell
Enforce Federal, State and City laws and ordinances in the handling and provision of alcoholic beverages.
Handle payment transactions and maintain accurate cash drawer
Adhere to and abide by cash handling procedures as per Company standards
Serve wine, beer and liquor in proper proportions and glassware and charging proper prices for beverages
Maintain daily inventories behind bars at beginning and end of shift
Maintain cleanliness of work areas including bar, floor, shelves, taps, coolers, and storage areas
Attend trainings, tastings, meetings, as needed
Perform all other reasonably assigned duties
