POSITION SUMMARY:
THE PRODUCTION MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PRESENTING CITY WINERY TO THE LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTIC COMMUNITIES AS A PROFESSIONAL VENUE, DEDICATED TO MEETING THE NEEDS OF PERFORMERS AND CLIENTS. MAINTAIN HIGH LEVEL OF PRODUCTION VALUE FOR EVERYTHING A/V-RELATED. PROVIDE IN-HOUSE AUDIO, VIDEO, LIGHTING AND TECHNICAL ENGINEERING SUPPORT FOR CONCERT PROGRAMMING AND EVENTS. PROVIDE PRESHOW ADVANCING AND DAY-OF SUPPORT FOR THOSE NEEDS. MAINTAIN, PROTECT, ORGANIZE AND INVENTORY ALL RELEVANT EQUIPMENT AND WORK WITH GM AND NATIONAL PRODUCTION DIRECTOR ON ANY DEPARTMENTAL NEEDS (ADDITIONS OR REPLACEMENTS). THIS IS A FULL-TIME SALARIED POSITION WHICH ALSO INCLUDES A BENEFIT PACKAGE.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• MINIMUM 4 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN LIVE SOUND AND EVENTS PRODUCTION MIXING AUDIO (FOH AND MONITORS), LIGHTING AND VIDEO.
• PRIOR EXPERIENCE AND FULL COMPREHENSION AND ABILITY TO MIX AUDIO ON THE YAMAHA SOUND PLATFORM IS REQUIRED (CL-5).
• EXPERIENCE MIXING FRONT OF HOUSE AND MONITORS FOR A VARIETY OF MUSIC STYLES AND GENRES.
• HIGH INTEGRITY, RELIABLE WORK ETHIC, AND UNPARALLELED PASSION FOR HOSPITALITY, FOOD, WINE, AND MUSIC
• PROFESSIONAL AND EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS • SUPERIOR ORGANIZATION SKILLS AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL
• FLEXIBLE AND ABLE TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY AS WELL AS COLLABORATIVELY WITH A TEAM
• MUST HAVE PROFICIENT COMPUTER AND TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS • ABILITY TO PERFORM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION INCLUDING STANDING FOR EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, KNEELING, STOOPING, USING STAIRS, ABLE TO LIFT, CARRY, PUSH, PULL WEIGHT OF AT LEAST 70 LB.
• COMFORTABLE WORKING FROM A LADDER (RUNNING CABLES, FOCUSING LIGHTING FIXTURES, PROJECTOR CLEANING & MAINTENANCE, ETC.)
• ABILITY TO WORK A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE INCLUDING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS AS NEEDED OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
• OPERATE CONCERT AND EVENT AUDIO, LIGHTING AND VIDEO AS A MINIMUM OF 5 DAYS PER WEEK FACILITY WIDE.
• ADVANCE PRODUCTION FOR ALL VENUE CONCERTS AND EVENTS. THIS WILL INCLUDE ARTIST AND CLIENT PRODUCTION ADVANCING, BACKLINE ORDERING, EQUIPMENT COORDINATION, ETC.
• WORK WITH TOUR MANAGERS AND CLIENTS TO MAKE SURE ALL AV NEEDS ARE MET ON THE DAY OF SHOW AND ADAPT AS NEEDED
• FIND, TRAIN, SCHEDULE AND COORDINATE ADDITIONAL PRODUCTION STAFF WHEN REQUIRED. MAINTAIN AN UP-TO-DATE ROSTER OF SUBSTITUTE AV STAFF.
• OVERSEE AV AND IT GEAR SECURITY, MAINTENANCE, INVENTORY AND ORGANIZATION. COORDINATE WITH GM AND NATIONAL PRODUCTION STAFF FOR ANY NEEDED AV REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENTS.
• ADAPT TO COLLEAGUE REQUESTS AND FELLOW STAFF FEEDBACK FOR TECHNICAL SHOW REQUIREMENTS
• REFERENCE ALL BACKLINE AND AV RENTAL ORDERS TO MAKE SURE ALL NEEDS ARE MET FOR THE SHOW OR EVENT THAT DAY(S)
• PARTICIPATE IN WEEKLY COMPANY-WIDE PRODUCTION AV MEETINGS, WEEKLY BEO MEETINGS WITH LOCAL TEAM, AND OTHERS AS NEEDED.
• ENSURE TRIPLESEAT (OUR INTERNAL COMPANY SHOW CALENDAR) IS ALWAYS UP TO DATE WITH CURRENT PRODUCTION INFORMATION. • OVERSEE SET UP OF TECH NEEDS AS REQUIRED FACILITY WIDE
• ACT AS PRIMARY POINT OF CONTACT FOR ARTISTS AND MANAGEMENT UPON ARRIVAL AT CITY WINERY; GREET ARTISTS / MANAGEMENT, SHOW THEM TO DRESSING ROOM / GREEN ROOM, AND INTRODUCE THEM TO ADDITIONAL STAFF.
• ASSIST BAND WITH LOAD-IN, LOAD-OUT AND STAGE SETUP AS NEEDED.
• OVERSEE PRE- AND POST-SHOW MUSIC ENSURING THAT IT IS APPROPRIATE FOR GENRE OF BAND PERFORMING AND AT A SUITABLE LEVEL
• MANAGE PRE-SHOW STAGE LIGHTING AND IN-SHOW LIGHTING (I.E. FOCUSED LOOK RATHER THAN A STAGE WASH FOR A SOLO PERFORMER); ENSURE LIGHTING IS DYNAMIC AND MATCHES THE SHOW (ONE LOOK IS NOT SUFFICIENT FOR ANY SHOW)
• FACILITATE PROPER PRE-SHOW ANNOUNCEMENTS AND HOUSE LIGHTS FOR SHOW LEVEL
• MANAGE AND COORDINATE RUN OF THE SHOW (SOUND CHECK BEGINNING AND END TIMES, START OF SHOW TIMING, HOUSE AND STAGE LIGHTING, ETC.)
• PROGRAMMING, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL BUILDING LIGHTING SYSTEMS (KETRA)• PROGRAMMING, OPERATION, TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE BUILDING AV SYSTEM (ELAN)
• PERFORM OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS REQUIRED
