Cafe Linea occupies a truly unique, high-profile location in Chelsea, comprising architecturally stunning, Grade II* listed interiors and an incomparable all-year terrace with views over a picturesque green. It includes 72 covers internally and 60 covers on the terrace, and will open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A place to visit at any time of day, whether for a morning pastry and cappuccino, an afternoon glass of wine on the terrace, a substantial meal, or spritzes and small plates in the evening.
THE ROLE
The Commis Waiter is an entry-level role in the restaurant team, supporting waitstaff and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. This role involves delivering food and beverages to tables, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with guest needs. It is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
As Commis Waiter at Café Linea, you will be responsible for:
Service Support
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen or bar to guests promptly and accurately.
- Ensure correct table numbers and seating arrangements are followed.
- Assist waitstaff by clearing plates, refilling water glasses, and resetting tables.
Operational Duties
- Set up and maintain cleanliness of service areas, including stations, tables, and floors.
- Prepare table settings, including utensils, napkins, and glassware.
- Restock items such as condiments, plates, and cutlery during service.
Guest Interaction
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to guests as needed.
- Respond to basic guest inquiries or requests and refer more complex issues to waitstaff or managers.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Assist in opening and closing duties, such as setting up or breaking down service stations.
- Support waitstaff during busy periods to maintain efficient service flow.
