Description

Cafe Linea is a vibrant new hospitality concept located in one of London’s most iconic and picturesque destinations. More than just a café, Linea is a refined neighbourhood restaurant, bar, and bakery with a deep-rooted focus on quality, creativity, and heartfelt hospitality.

It’s a place where guests can enjoy an elegant breakfast, relax over an afternoon glass of wine, or gather with friends in the evening. Guided by a philosophy of “less is more”, we focus on seasonal ingredients, considered details, and meaningful interactions — making every moment matter.

We’re now seeking a passionate and ambitious Assistant Restaurant Manager to help lead our opening team and shape the guest experience from day one. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a start-up culture, is eager to grow, and wants to leave a lasting mark on a new London destination.

YOUR ROLE

You will be a key operational leader in the day-to-day running of Cafe Linea. Working closely with the senior management team, you’ll uphold our high standards, deliver guest-first service, and foster a culture where both guests and team members feel genuinely valued.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Culture

  • Lead by example, inspiring your team to deliver excellence on every shift.

  • Recruit, onboard, and nurture a high-performing, guest-focused team.

  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance reviews.

Guest Experience

  • Maintain an unwavering commitment to outstanding service and guest satisfaction.

  • Build relationships with regulars and local clientele to foster loyalty.

  • Address guest concerns proactively and continuously improve service standards.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee all daily operations across the restaurant, bar, and counter service areas.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing, health & safety, and other regulatory standards.

  • Support process improvements, menu launches, and in-house initiatives such as events and retail offerings.

Brand Development

  • Help define the personality and tone of Cafe Linea through service style, training, and presentation.

  • Contribute creative ideas to brand-building — from retail displays to playlist curation.

  • Keep up-to-date with hospitality trends and competitor activity, sharing insights with leadership.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You Are…

  • People-First – You lead with empathy and believe a strong team culture drives guest satisfaction.

  • Guest-Obsessed – You set and maintain the highest service standards.

  • Hands-On – You’re most effective when working alongside your team.

  • Creative & Curious – You bring ideas to the table and embrace innovation.

  • Start-Up Ready – You’re energised by a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change.

  • Operationally Sharp – You’re confident with rotas, stock management, cost control, and systems.

PERKS & BENEFITS
  • Competitive salary plus bonus and performance incentives

  • 28 days’ paid holiday (including bank holidays)

  • Free meals on shift and generous staff discounts

  • Bespoke training and professional development plans

  • Annual birthday gift

  • “Refer a Friend” bonus scheme

  • Cycle to Work scheme

  • Team recognition and awards programme

  • Complimentary meal for you and a guest on each work anniversary
