Mc Gettigan Limited is seeking a talented Commis Chef with experience in European and Irish cuisine, particularly dishes featured on our hotel(The Address Hotel Connolly)’s menu, which includes Irish, Italian-inspired, French-style, and Mediterranean influences. You will be responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen and ensuring consistent, high-quality food preparation and presentation and will work collaboratively with the kitchen team and report to the Head Chef, playing a key role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations and upholding culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service coordination, and section management.
  • Assist with menu planning and recipe execution, contributing ideas and maintaining consistency in quality.
  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes with attention to detail in both taste and presentation.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety throughout your section.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory control, and ensure proper storage practices.
  • Help train and guide junior kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
  • Ensure your section runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the kitchen.

Qualifications:

·         At least 2 years’ experience as a Commis Chef or similar role.

·         Culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience.

·         Knowledge of Irish food safety and hygiene standards.

·         Proficient in cooking techniques and kitchen operations.

·         Strong organizational and teamwork skills.

·         Ability to work under pressure and manage tasks efficiently.

·         Flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends.

·         Physically fit to handle kitchen demands.
