Position: Busser
FLSA Designation: Non- Exempt
Reports To: FOH Management
Position Description:
As a busser you are responsible for supporting runners and servers by resetting all tables, cleaning, ensuring the availability of flatware and plates are accessible. As well as restocking all stations with clean tableware.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Support service team with ongoing table and floor maintenance, including: water service, clearing and cleaning tables and resetting tables with proper tableware
Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, and energetic service at all times
Maintain full menu knowledge for both food and beverage items, including all allergen information
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Ensure proper table maintenance, including water service and pre-bussing
Stock and prepare service related items
Maintain professional and warm guest communications
Knowledge of all table and position numbers, as well as descriptions, major components, and proper utensils for each dish
Specific Job Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours
Bi-Lateral manual dexterity as required to handle, touch and feel, and reach with hands and arms
Ability to talk and hear clearly
Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch
Ability to taste and smell
Ability to utilize close, distance, color and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and to adjust focus
Willingness to work at peak hours, which may include evenings, holidays, and weekends
English fluency
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills to communicate positively
Strong problem-solving acumen
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Qualifications Standards:
High school graduate or equivalent
At least one year in a high-volume, fine-dining restaurant
Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
Sexual harassment training required
