Copain is part of Noble Food and Pursuits, a chef driven hospitality group in the Carolinas. Our bakery and café that focuses on craft, consistency and warm hospitality, from breads and pastries to coffee and prepared foods. At Copain Ballantyne, we bring that same standard into a full service setting while supporting a strong retail and grab and go program.

We are looking for a Prep Cook to support both the restaurant and retail prepared foods, delivering consistent execution, smart organization and reliable daily production. This hybrid role works closely with the Chef and team to ensure guests can count on fresh, high quality food across every service style.

What You Will Do

  • Execute daily prep, sauces, components and station support for the full service kitchen
  • Prepare, cook and portion hot and cold items for retail, grab and go and café service
  • Follow recipes and production standards to maintain consistency in flavor, texture and presentation across restaurant and retail
  • Support specialty menus and holiday menus for both service styles as directed by the Chef
  • Assist with rotation of product using first in first out practices and label, date and store all products safely according to food safety guidelines
  • Help with daily and weekly inventory counts for prepared foods, proteins, produce and key ingredients
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, reach in coolers and storage areas
  • Communicate any product quality, prep level or par level concerns to the Chef in a timely way

What You Will Bring

  • Previous prep cook or line cook experience in a scratch kitchen preferred
  • Strong knife skills and comfort working with volume prep and batch cooking
  • Ability to move between restaurant prep and retail production with consistency and urgency
  • Ability to follow recipes and written prep lists with close attention to detail
  • Good habits around cleanliness, organization and food safety
  • Culinary driven with passion for food and reliable to show up each shift ready to take on the day
