Burnham Beeches Hotel is a 4-star hotel Georgian Hotel hidden amongst 10 acres of beautiful gardens in the Buckinghamshire countryside. The hotel boasts 82 bedrooms, a leisure club, extensive conference and banqueting facilities and a restaurant.

The hotel is busy throughout the year, with a focus on hosting both leisure and corporate guests for a variety of events. From private family functions, engagement parties, baby showers and weddings to product launches, conferences, board meetings, away days and more, we deliver a little stately service, with a lot of personality.

Burnham Beeches Hotel just completed a beautiful transformation! Refreshments took place across the hotel from our suites and bedrooms in the original Manor House through to the Reception and other public areas, staying in keeping with the Manor House's fantastic heritage and historical features.

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a vital part of our kitchen management, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary career within a reputable hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and production.
  • Supervise and support kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food delivery.
  • Oversee food safety standards and ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations.
  • Lead by example in food presentation, cooking techniques, and customer service practices.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen setting.
  • Extensive background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
  • A genuine passion for culinary arts and delivering outstanding customer experiences. This position offers an excellent platform for career progression within the hospitality industry for candidates who demonstrate dedication, creativity, and leadership qualities.
