Human Resource Director Job Description

  • Leads the design, development, communication, administration, delivery, and evaluation of employee relation services, programs, policies and procedures including those related to performance management, discipline, benefits, and grievance
  • Ensures design of process documentation, business process procedures, functional specifications and educational materials
  • Enhances, develops, and/or promotes employee relations programs, employee training initiatives, and other efforts in response to emerging law, policy, and company priorities
  • Oversees the development of documentation supporting the application of employee relations policy and process
  • Work with HRVP and the leadership team in support of company strategies
  • Lead the HR Business Partners/HR Generalists in implementing and supporting a broad array of HR programs, initiatives, and issues

Specific areas of responsibility:

·       Benefits

·       Supervision of employee relations complaints

·       Exit interviews

·       Performance evaluation process

·       Legal liaison

·       Training development

·       Supervise HR Generalists/HR Business Partners and admins


Education/Experience/Requirements:

·       Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a closely related field. Five years of experience in a Human Resources field required.

·       Considerable knowledge of modern policies and practices of HR  administration and employment law.

·       Skill in planning, directing, and administering HR programs and systems; and operating the listed tools and equipment.

·       Ability to prepare and analyze comprehensive reports; carry out assigned projects to their completion; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers, and executives

Physical Demands:

·       Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs

·       The ability to sit frequently

·       Must be able to speak, write, and understand the English language

·       Must be able to reach for and handle objects

·       Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and location travel, including exposure to heat, cold, inclement weather conditions and occasional environmental hazards.
