Job: Assistant F&B Manager at Cowley Manor

Based in: Cowley, Cheltenham

Reports to: F&B Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Management:

  • In the event of the absence of the F&B Manager and Deputy F&B Manager you will be expected to oversee the operations, ensuring the smooth running of multiple F&B operations of all services inclusive of the restaurant, bar, terrace, room service, picnics, spa bar, and weddings & events.
  • Oversee the service of the food and drinks, ensuring consistent, high-quality products are being served to guests.
  • Create a welcoming environment for guests and assess their needs making informed recommendations where possible
  • In cooperation with the F&B Manager and the Deputy F&B Manager, handle and provide adequate solutions to guest complaints.
  • Deal with guest feedback, sharing to the team and implementing actions.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of staff and the F&B area and pay attention to possible health hazards and regulation violations.
  • Apply all Food and Beverage Regulations.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety legal requirements are up to date
  • Report every maintenance action and repairs needed to the General Manager.

Team Management:

  • Assist the Deputy F&B Manager in the supervision and training of the F&B team, encouraging upselling.
  • Manage staff complaints of the F&B team, report complaints and issues to the F&B Manager for eventual disciplinary procedures.
  • Create a positive work environment, ensuring a high employee engagement and optimising the employee retention.
  • Ensure all legal requirements are adhered to (i.e. Wage and Hour/Breaks, Health and Safety, etc.).
  • In the event of the absence of the Deputy F&B Manager you will be expected to record number of hours worked for each member of the team bar, track absences, lateness, request for days off, holidays and sick days.

  • Experience in a similar role within a comparable venue.
  • Have great overall knowledge of everything under the F&B banner.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Be well spoken with excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to details and guests needs.
  • Social, engaging, and motivated.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations.
  • Knowledge as well as abilities in other languages would be beneficial.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
