Located in the Cotswold, Cowley Manor is one of the most famous buildings in the country. The luxury boutique hotel is composed of 31 rooms, a bar and a restaurant along with an incredible terrace, fantastic grounds and a stunning C-Side Spa.
Job: Porter/ Doorman - Temporary Contract (5 Months)
Based in: Cowley, Cheltenham
Reports to: Front Office Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will be the 1st welcome and the fond farewell for all guests making the 1st and last impression a guests has of their experience at Cowley Manor.
- Meet and greet all guests arriving to Cowley Manor in the car park and welcome them into the Manor House (or Spa if applicable) with enthusiasm and confidence.
- Assist guests with luggage when they arrive and depart.
- Give directions confidently throughout the property, i.e. guide to the spa, restaurant, their room or event.
- Have knowledge of the activities in and around the property on a daily basis so you are better able to guide guests.
- For in house guests, host their tour of the property upon arrival.
- Support reception.

As a Hotel Porter you will have a guest focused attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude and skills that follow:
- Always have a helpful and friendly attitude towards guests and colleagues.
- Experience in a similar role and venue is advantageous, but willingness to learn is most important.
- Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations.
- Attention to details and customer needs.
- Take pride in all you do.
