Located in the Cotswold, Cowley Manor is one of the most famous buildings in the country. The luxury boutique hotel is composed of 31 rooms, a bar and a restaurant along with an incredible terrace, fantastic grounds and a stunning C-Side Spa. 

Position: Night Duty Manager
Location: Cowley, Cheltenham
Hours: 40 hours per week (5 nights)
Annual Salary £35,000

Availability: Immediate start available

About the Role:

We are seeking a Night Duty Manager to act as Manager on Duty during overnight shifts. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel throughout the night, maintaining exceptional guest service standards, and upholding safety, security, and luxury service expectations.

Key Responsibilities 

Hotel Operations:     
  • Act as Manager on Duty during night shifts, ensuring smooth hotel operations.
  • Support the Front Office Manager with daily operational tasks.
  • Lead, motivate, and train the Night Porter team.
  • Ensure company standards and procedures are followed overnight.
  • Oversee guest arrivals and departures, including late check-ins and no-shows.
  • Handle guest enquiries and issues professionally.
  • Manage the hotel switchboard and redirect calls.
  • Maintain a visible presence in public areas overnight.
Night Audit & Administration:

  • Complete the End of Day process using Opera PMS.
  • Support night audit and financial reconciliations.
  • Ensure correct billing, banking reports, and commission reconciliation.
  • Allocate and manage online reservations.
  • Monitor and respond to the hotel’s general inbox.
  • Prepare and submit operational reports on time.
Safety, Security & Compliance
  • Conduct regular fire walks and safety checks.
  • Address hazards or security concerns promptly.
  • Safeguard guests, staff, keys, and property.
Overnight Service & Handover
  • Prepare and serve light snacks and beverages.
  • Ensure public areas are clean and guest ready.
  • Provide a clear handover to the morning team.
