Located in the Cotswold, Cowley Manor is one of the most famous buildings in the country. The luxury boutique hotel is composed of 36 rooms, a bar and a restaurant along with an incredible terrace, fantastic grounds and a stunning C-Side Spa. 

Job: Housekeeping Supervisor at Cowley Manor

Based in: Cowley, Cheltenham

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

Roles:

Housekeeping Supervisor supports the Housekeeping Manager in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel. The role includes inspecting rooms and public areas, supporting housekeeping staff, managing supplies, and ensuring efficient day-to-day housekeeping operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Room and Area Standard

  • Inspect guest rooms to ensure they meet the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Check public areas cleaned by public area attendants.
  • Assist with cleaning guest rooms, spa areas, and public spaces when required.

Team Support and Training

  • Support, guide, and train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures and equipment use.
  • Promote teamwork, flexibility, and high standards within the department.
  • Prepare housekeeping work lists and daily task allocations.

Operations and Administration

  • Maintain correct stock levels in housekeeping stores and ensure supplies are stored properly.
  • Prepare store orders for Housekeeping General Assistants when required.
  • Maintain housekeeping records and paperwork.
  • Assist in the linen room when needed.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly to ensure repairs are carried out.
  • Take ownership and deputise in the absence of the Head Housekeeper.

Communication and Coordination

  • Liaise with Reception regarding guest requirements and room readiness.
  • Manage the issue and collection of staff keys.
  • Handle lost property enquiries and records.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in a similar role within a comparable venue.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Be well spoken with excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to details and customer needs.
  • Social, engaging, and motivated.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations.
  • Knowledge as well as abilities in other languages would be beneficial.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
