Job: Linen Porter at Cowley Manor

Based in: Cowley, Cheltenham

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

Role Overview:

Responsible for supporting the housekeeping team by managing hotel linen, maintaining storage areas, and ensuring the smooth operation of laundry processes. This role helps maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the hotel while ensuring sufficient linen supplies are available for daily operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Linen & Laundry Management

  • Handle the removal and transport of used laundry from guest rooms and operational areas.
  • Sort and count linen and towels for collection by the external laundry service.
  • Check all laundry items in and out, ensuring documentation is completed accurately.
  • Monitor linen stock levels and ensure adequate supply is available at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked linen room.

Housekeeping Support

  • Assist the housekeeping team with cleaning duties when required.
  • Support the movement of furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Follow the correct procedures for handling lost property.
  • Clean and maintain storage areas, corridors, and public spaces in accordance with the hotel’s standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or technical problems to the Housekeeping Manager.

Guest Interaction

  • Greet hotel guests politely and respond positively to any requests or questions.

Health & Safety

  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
